Michael DiMeo is a Southern California native, born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He first became interested in set design while participating in the drama dept during high school. Michael attended CalArts in the early 1980’s where he acquired a variety of skills before quickly moving on to pursue a career in Hollywood.
His first TV Credit was as Property Master on a sitcom for TBS in 1986. For the next decade, Michael worked in Hollywood as a freelance in the art dept doing everything from designing and building props, constructing and painting sets to decorating and dressing them, honing his creative skills while working his way up the ladder within the department.
By 1994, he had evolved into more of an Art Director/ Set Decorator creating the “look” on a variety of national TV commercials and countless local TV network promotions. In 1997, Michael received his first TV Credit as Art Director on a design series for Lifetime. He has been an active member of the Art Directors Guild from the time he joined in 2002.
Michael has been credited as Art Director or Production Designer on hit TV shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, 7th Heaven, and Fat Actress. He continues to design various national commercials as well as pilots for new TV shows. Michael is currently working as Production Designer
on ABC Family's, Secret Life of the American Teenager,
now in production on its third season which is scheduled to air this summer. |
